NEW MEXICO In 2001 Aleksandra Kasuba moved from New York City to New Mexico to build at the edge of a desert a house for herself and two shell dwellings (guest houses with a studio) for invited artist friends. The aim was to employ the dynamics observed in curved tensile membranes to metal netting or mesh, apply it to housing, and explore the possibilities.
